Brenton Decker is currently in his 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. He will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in Construction Management, in May 2009. Brenton spent his first two years of study at the Penn State Dubois campus. While there, he studied AE and was part of the varsity basketball team. Since venturing to University Park, Mr. Decker has been actively involved in several student organizations for his major. He has been a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as well as S:PACE. Being involved in these organizations has presented Brenton with many opportunities to help out with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and go on field trips to see various projects and learn valuable knowledge about the industry.

Last summer, Brenton participated in a construction management internship with ISEC Inc. in Columbia, Maryland. ISEC is a specialty contracting group who does interior architectural woodwork along with other various scopes of work. During his internship, Brenton took on the role of Project Engineer. He got hands on experience processing submittals, writing RFI's, reading contract documents, managing vendors, etc. He also gained valuable knowledge on the difficulties that can arise on a project and how to manage against them. Upon graduating, Mr. Decker looks forward to embarking on his career as a Construction Manager and working his way up through a reputable company.
